The country house
La Grandetta is a country house, the only in a panoramic position, 500 meters from the Castel del Monte , a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which can be reached easily on foot or by bicycle that we provide for free. We are located in the heart of the High Murgia National Park .
From each perspective La Grandetta offers you the fascinating view of the mysterious octagonal castle, built by the Emperor Frederick II. It rises magically as a mirage of stone, changing its colours depending on the daytime and the seasons.
The country house was built following ecological criteria, respecting the environment and the culture of the place: the ideal material for heat insulation and soundproofing was chosen, as well as the stone from the marvelous Murgia landscape for the building and gravel from the Ofanto river for the paths. In the garden and the pinewood, there are following species of the Mediterranean scrub: Spanish broom, whitethorn, mastic tree, arbutus, lavender and the aromatic herbs that grow on our territory.
You will be able to move freely on the almost 20,000 square meters of the external places where you will find the garden, the pinewood, and the environment of the spontaneous Murgia landscape, ideal for walks and for practicing some sport. Moreover you’ll have at your disposal the patio and the solarium to relax, a gazebo with tables, chairs and a barbecue for picnics and cooking under the grill to complete your comfort, far away from the frenetic rhythm of the town, to enjoy a regenerating stay.
